D-Day 80th Memorial

On Thursday 6th June Westhoughton the people of Westhoughton took time to Remember our Fallen Heroes on the 80th Anniversary of D-Day.

Pictured at the War Memorial Service at 11am, Westhoughton Town Mayor, Cllr Neil Maher, Deputy Mayor, Cllr Gillian Wroe, Mayor of Horwich, Cllr Ian Aldcroft and Mayoress Mrs Aldcroft, also pictured Mr Younge representing Westhoughton Branch of RBL, Mrs Lindsay Pollard representing RAFA Association, Mr Chris Green and Ms Pauline Rowley, Town Clerk who also conducted the morning memorial.

Pictured at the Evening Service at St Bartholomew’s Church are Westhoughton Town Mayor, Cllr Neil Maher with Mayoress, Cllr Linda Maher and Reverend Carol Pharaoh.

Wreaths were laid on behalf of Westhoughton Town Councill, Westhoughton Royal British Legion, RAF Association Leigh Branch, The Westhoughton History Society and Mr Chris Green.
